Every single element is open to discussion and customization — from the width and height of the lapel gorge to the internal pocket configuration and the type of hand-stitching on the buttonholes. The process involves a series of 3-4 fittings (basted, forward, and fin bar fin) where the garment is deconstructed and reconstructed to achieve a perfect, three-dimensional fit. It's a collaborative journey that results in a garment that is unequivocally, uniquely yours.

Made-to-Measure (MTM) Precision is a more streamlined, yet still highly personalized, process. Instead of starting from a blank slate, we begin with our expertly refined "master patterns" or "blocks". We then meticulously alter this block to conform to your measurements. While the pattern isn't created from scratch, the adjustments are comprehensive. You still have a vast choice of fabrics, linings, buttons, and key style details like pocket types and vent options. The process is faster, typically requiring 1-2 fittings. It’s the perfect choice for a gentleman who needs a superb fit and high level of personalization with a more efficient turnaround and a more accessible price point.

Therefore, the final price is a reflection of the choices you make during our collaborative process. There is no "typical" price, as every commission is unique. However, the cost is primarily determined by three key factors:

1. The Fabric: This is often the most significant variable. A suit made from a solid, reliable Super 120s wool from an excellent Indian or Italian mill will have a different price point than one crafted from a rare Super 200s wool, vicuña, or a complex cashmere/silk blend from a world-renowned mill like Loro Piana or Zegna. We offer a vast range of options to suit different budgets and desires.
2. The Construction (Bespoke vs. MTM): As detailed earlier, the full bespoke process involves significantly more man-hours, from hand-drafting the pattern to the many hours of intricate hand-stitching (like hand-padded lapels and hand-sewn buttonholes). This intensive labour and artistry is reflected in the price compared to the more streamlined Made-to-Measure service.
3. The Complexity of the Design: A classic two-piece business suit will be more straightforward to create than a three-piece suit with complex details, a patterned fabric that requires meticulous pattern-matching, or a ceremonial garment with extensive embroidery.

During your initial consultation, once we have an understanding of your needs and preferences, we will provide you with a clear and detailed estimate before any commitment is made. This is a common and excellent question. The short answer is: we use pictures for inspiration, but we do not create exact replicas. And this is for your benefit.

However, our duty as bespoke tailors is not to simply copy, but to interpret and perfect. Here’s why a direct copy is often a disservice to the client:

• Your Body is Unique: The suit in the photograph was made for the specific body of the person wearing it (who is often a professional model). A lapel that looks perfect on a 6'2" model may overwhelm the frame of someone who is 5'8". Our policy is designed to be fair and ensure your long-term satisfaction:

• Initial Settling-In Period: We encourage you to wear your new suit a few times to allow the natural fibers to settle and drape to your body. We offer complimentary minor adjustments within the first three months of collection. This could include slight tweaks to the waist or sleeve length as the garment finds its final form on your body. This is part of our commitment to a perfect fit.
• Significant Body Changes: We construct our garments with generous seam allowances, particularly in the side seams, seat, and waist of the trousers. This is done with the future in mind. If you experience minor weight gain or loss over the years, these allowances enable us to perform alterations to adjust the fit. These substantial alterations are a chargeable service, and the cost will depend on the extent of work required. We will always provide a quote before commencing any work.
• Repairs & Maintenance: A well-loved suit will eventually show signs of wear. We offer a full repair service, from replacing linings and buttons to mending small tears. Mass-produced suits are often fused and can withstand harsh treatment; a finely crafted canvassed garment requires a more gentle approach.

Here are our essential care guidelines:

• Rotate Your Suits: This is the single most important rule. Avoid wearing the same suit two days in a row. Giving it at least a day's rest allows the natural fibers (like wool) to breathe, shed wrinkles, and return to their natural shape.
• Use a Proper Hanger: Never use a thin wire hanger. Invest in a quality wooden hanger with wide, curved shoulders that mimics the shape of your own shoulders. This will support the jacket's structure and prevent unsightly puckering or stretching. Trousers should be hung by the cuff or folded gently over the hanger bar.
• Empty Your Pockets: Before hanging your suit, remove everything from the pockets (phone, keys, wallet). Leaving heavy items in the pockets will distort the fabric and can ruin the garment's silhouette over time.
• Steaming, Not Ironing: A gentle steam is the best way to remove minor wrinkles from travel or a day's wear. Direct ironing can scorch or create a shine on fine wool. If you must iron, use a low heat setting and always place a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.
• Brush, Don't Lint Roll: After wearing, use a soft, natural-bristle garment brush to remove dust, hair, and surface dirt. This is more gentle on the fabric than sticky lint rollers, which can leave a residue.
• Dry Clean Sparingly: This may sound counterintuitive, but the harsh chemicals and high heat of dry cleaning are tough on natural fibers. Only dry clean your suit when it is genuinely dirty or stained, perhaps once or twice a year at most. For minor spots, spot-clean carefully with a damp cloth.
